|| Our Story
In April, 2002 Don Neal researched schematic diagram software for his electrical business, Don Neal Electrical. He discovered that his only option was to purchase and use one of a range of professional drafting specific programs, an option which was not only expensive but would require considerable time and resources to learn to use. As a result he developed CircuitWiz - an affordable, easy to use alternative which utilizes MicroSoft Excel as a basis to generate professional schematic diagrams. The diagrams conform to SAA standards and utilize symbols from either the European Standards (IEC) or North American standards (ANSI), depending on the version used.
CircuitWiz has been marketed via the internet and electrical trade magazines in Queensland since January 2003 and has been a part of Don Neal Electrical. However, a steadily increasing market response, improved development and the opportunity to expand into new overseas markets and new fields such as hydraulics and auto electrics has necessitated moving to a new business - Fudje Software.
The team at Fudje Software is a family affair and includes our CEO and Software Developer Don Neal, his (very patient) wife and fellow CEO Fay Neal and their daughter Sonja Jeffcoat who has joined the team as administrator, webmaster, and marketing manager (anything the CEOs can't do!). As with any family business we all owe a great debt of gratitude to other family members and staff at Don Neal Electrical for their patience, input and encouragement even when we thought we would never get beyond the beta version!
We have now had five versions released of CircuitWiz© and at the start of 2004 released CableWiz - now CalcWiz© which makes Maximum Demand, Fault Loop Impedence, Current Capacity and Voltage Drop calculations in accordance with Australian Standards a breeze. Our development process is very customer orientated and we would like to hear from any of our users (or potential users) with ideas or feedback so we can continue to develop programs designed to meet the needs of our users.
